Linseed oil is pure cold-pressed linseed oil. The temperature does not exceed 60°C during the process of pressing flax. Linseed oil is a completely non-toxic natural product. Linseed oil is absorbed into the wood, protecting it from dirt, moisture and fissures. It brings out the beautiful grain of the wood and also any exposed knots. Linseed oil is highly suitable for food contact coating of wooden surfaces. It is fully natural and environmentally safe.
Areas of application: Cutting boards, wooden dishes, wooden toys, furniture, cooking spatulas, board surfaces
Ingredients: Linseed oil
Pre-treatment: It is important that the wood material that is to be treated is dry, with a maximum wood moisture level that is below 21% and a relative air humidity that is below 80%. Clean any old treatable surfaces of any dirt, mould, and removable materials. Prime the surface with Ecobase.
Instructions for use: Pine turpentine may be used as the solvent. Apply to the surface as a thin layer, brushing in the direction of the wood’s grain and give the oil time to be absorbed. Wipe off any excess oil that is no longer being absorbed. Between one to four finishing layers will be required, depending on the quality of the wooden surface and its purpose of use. Finish any cuts ends with special care. The drying time can be shortened by adding a desiccant. Linseed oil may be tinted with pigment dye. The dried surface can be finished by sanding it lightly or treating it with a scraper. A new finish is applied after a year, if necessary. Linseed oil is not recommended for varnished or painted surfaces. Its use for any other purpose or contrary to the advice given here is not recommended.
Drying time: Thinly coated 24 hours
Cleaning equipment: Careful washing with a water and soap solution
Preventing environmental risks: Since rags and wood chips that have become contaminated with the product may ignite spontaneously, they need to be preserved by soaking them in water before disposal, or keeping them in closed tin containers, or burning them immediately.
Empty and dry packaging can be disposed of along with other household waste.
Storage: Does not require any special conditions.
